Privacy Policy

Ignyq Inc.  ·  Last updated: May 4, 2026

The short version Ignyq is unusual among financial apps: your financial data — portfolio, income, net worth, retirement projections — is stored exclusively on your own machine in an encrypted local database. We cannot see it, access it, or sell it, because it never reaches our servers. What this policy covers is the limited information that flows through our website and our authorized payment processor when you buy a license.

1. Who We Are

Ignyq™ is a personal finance and portfolio management software application developed and operated by Ignyq Inc., a Delaware corporation doing business in Texas ("we," "us," or "our"). Our website is ignyq.co.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you give us directly

When you purchase a license, Stripe (our payment processor) collects:

  • Your email address (for license key delivery and receipts)
  • Your payment information (credit or debit card)
  • Your billing name and address (required for tax compliance)

We receive from our payment processor:

  • Your email address
  • The product purchased (tier and billing interval)
  • Order date and amount paid

We do not receive your full payment card number or CVV — these are handled entirely by our payment processor and their banking infrastructure and never pass through our systems.

2.2 Information collected automatically by our website

Our website host (Squarespace) collects standard web analytics, which may include:

  • IP address (anonymized where possible)
  • Browser type and version
  • Pages visited and time spent
  • Referring website
  • Device type (desktop/mobile)

2.3 What the application does NOT collect

The Ignyq desktop application does not:

  • Transmit your financial planning data to any server
  • Collect your portfolio holdings or trading activity
  • Send usage analytics, crash reports, or telemetry
  • Store any personally identifiable information in the cloud
  • Require or create a user account

Market data (stock quotes, fundamentals) is fetched from third-party providers (Yahoo Finance) on demand. Your watchlist ticker symbols may be included in those API requests, which is equivalent to typing a stock symbol into any public financial website.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Deliver your license key by email
  • Send purchase receipts and renewal reminders
  • Respond to support requests
  • Comply with tax and legal requirements
  • Improve the website (aggregate analytics only)

We do not:

  • Sell your personal information to third parties
  • Use your email for third-party advertising
  • Share your purchase information with anyone except as required by law or for fraud prevention

4. Third-Party Services

4.1 Our payment processor

Purchases are processed securely by Stripe (stripe.com/privacy). Ignyq Inc. is the seller of record. Stripe handles checkout, subscription billing, and tax collection. Your payment card details are held by Stripe and their banking infrastructure — they never pass through our systems. Ignyq Inc. does not store or have access to your full card number or CVV.

4.2 Squarespace

Our website hosting provider. Collects standard web analytics.
Privacy policy: squarespace.com/privacy

4.3 Yahoo Finance / market data providers

The Ignyq application fetches publicly available market data. Ticker symbols in your watchlist are sent as query parameters in these requests. The Developer is not responsible for those providers' data practices.

4.4 GuruFocus (optional, Bring Your Own Key)

The Wealth and Elite tiers support optional integration with GuruFocus for additional fundamental data. This requires you to supply your own GuruFocus API key. Data requests go directly from your machine to GuruFocus and are subject to their terms and privacy policy. Ignyq does not store or transmit your GuruFocus API key.

4.5 AI providers (optional, Bring Your Own Key)

Ignyq's optional AI features require you to supply your own API key from a supported provider (Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (ChatGPT/GPT-4o), Google (Gemini), Perplexity, xAI (Grok), Copilot (Microsoft)). When you use these features, text queries you submit are sent directly to the provider you have configured and are subject to that provider's privacy policy. Ignyq does not store, log, or transmit your AI queries or API keys to our servers.

Your API keys are stored exclusively in your operating system's secure credential store (macOS Keychain, Windows Credential Manager, or Linux Secret Service) — never in a plaintext configuration file.

5. Cookies

Our website uses cookies for essential site functionality (Squarespace session cookies) and aggregate analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; this will not affect your ability to purchase or use the Ignyq application.

6. Data Retention

  • Purchase and email records: Retained for as long as your license is active, plus 7 years for tax and legal compliance purposes.
  • Website analytics: Retained per Squarespace's standard policies.
  • Your financial data in the application: Stored only on your machine. We have no retention policy for data we cannot access.
  • AI Audit Logs: When you use AI features, a structured log entry is written locally to ~/Documents/Ignyq/logs/ recording the provider, model, analysis type, token count, and response time. These logs are retained locally for 90 days and rotate automatically. They are never transmitted to Ignyq or any third party.

7. Your Rights

You may request:

  • A copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Deletion of your email address from our records (note: this will revoke your license key support access)
  • Correction of inaccurate information

To make a request, email support@ignyq.co with the subject line "Privacy Request."

If you are in the European Union or United Kingdom, you have additional rights under GDPR/UK GDPR including the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

  • Right to Know: You may request information about the personal data we collect, use, share, and sell.
  • Right to Delete: You may request deletion of your personal data we hold, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Right to Opt-Out: We do not sell personal information. You do not need to opt-out.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights.

To exercise these rights, email support@ignyq.co with subject "California Privacy Request."

8. Children's Privacy

Ignyq is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact support@ignyq.co.

9. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold:

  • Our payment processor is PCI-DSS compliant
  • Email communications use TLS encryption
  • We do not store payment card data

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the website or application after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
